Job summary

SES Space & Defense in Reston, VA, seeks an organized Proposal Manager to lead compliant, high-quality government proposals. You will coordinate cross-functional teams, manage schedules, and ensure alignment with customer requirements throughout the proposal lifecycle.

You will collaborate with Business Development, Capture, Program Management, and subject matter experts, driving content, reviews, and production while upholding SES standards and process improvements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related discipline and knowledge of the full proposal management lifecycle.
• APMP certification required.
• Master's degree preferred; Shipley training is a plus.
• Experience with U.S. federal, state, and local government procurement and proposal practices.
• Strong writing, editing, and presentation skills; ability to coordinate multiple contributors under tight deadlines.

Responsibilities

• Manage and coordinate proposal development and submissions per internal and customer requirements.
• Lead proposal teams, define roles, assign tasks, and track deliverables across contributors.
• Develop comprehensive proposal plans, outlines, and schedules with milestones and reviews.
• Lead RFP reviews to identify requirements and questions; ensure compliance and quality.
• Coordinate with volume leads, technical contributors, and production resources; ensure win themes are reflected.
• Conduct kickoff meetings, provide process training, and maintain proposal baselines.
• Track progress, address schedule/resource constraints, and maintain cross-functional communication.
• Oversee final production, delivery, BAFOs, and compliance checks.
