Job summary

SES Space & Defense is seeking an organized Proposal Manager to lead the development of compliant, high-quality proposals for U.S. Government and other customers.

You will coordinate a diverse team, manage schedules, and ensure alignment with customer requirements and SES standards. You will work with Business Development, Capture, and Program Management to translate pursuit strategies into compelling proposal content, overseeing kickoff meetings, reviews, and final submissions in a fast-paced,

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Business, Communications, English, Marketing, Management, or related discipline.
• Knowledge of project management principles and the full proposal management lifecycle.
• Familiarity with U.S. federal, state, and local government acquisition processes.
• APMP certification required.
• Strong organizational and project management skills, with the ability to coordinate multiple contributors, manage schedules, and meet deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including strong technical writing, editing, and presentation abilities.
• Demonstrated ability to build effective teams, coordinate cross-functional stakeholders, and maintain productive working relationships.
• Ability to manage multiple priorities efficiently, exercise sound judgment, and work under pressure.
• Experience supporting proposal development within the defense industry preferred.
• Knowledge of SATCOM technologies, services, or related markets preferred.
• Familiarity with SharePoint, Salesforce, or similar platforms preferred.
• Master's degree preferred.
• Shipley proposal management training preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate proposal development and submissions per SES Space & Defense processes.
• Lead proposal teams with stakeholders including remote contributors.
• Develop and manage comprehensive proposal plans, schedules, outlines, and milestones.
• Lead RFP reviews to identify requirements, evaluation criteria, compliance obligations, and questions.
• Work with volume leads and technical contributors to align outlines with RFPs.
• Plan kickoff meetings and provide proposal process training.
• Coordinate with Business Development, Capture, and Program Management to translate capture info into proposals.
• Ensure win themes, storyboards, and content reflect strategies.
• Schedule color team reviews and track feedback through revisions.
• Coordinate resources like desktop publishing, graphics, and SharePoint.
• Monitor progress, resolve coordination issues, and maintain deadlines and quality.
• Manage final proposal production and BAFO submissions when required.
• Maintain communication across contributors and teams.
• Develop, maintain, and improve proposal methodologies and reusable materials.
• Support SES Space & Defense’s mission, values, and culture.
