Job summary

American Family Insurance is seeking a Property Claims professional for a field-oriented role in the Medina area. You will investigate and maintain homeowner property claims, review coverages, complete field inspections, and negotiate settlements.

The position is remote/field with up to 50% travel, relocation support, and a company fleet vehicle available for use. You will report to the Property Claim Manager and require hands-on property field claims experience with Xactimate to write accurate

Qualifications

• Hands-on property field claims experience and the ability to write clear, accurate estimates in Xactimate.
• Experience handling first- and third-party, multi-line claims across operating territories.
• Knowledge of casualty coverages and the claim handling process.

Responsibilities

• Investigates origin and cause of claims and communicates with insureds, claimants, agents, attorneys, contractors, and others.
• Identifies complex issues and seeks assistance as needed; handles claims in good faith.
• Handles both 1st party and 3rd party claims under multiple policies and endorsements.
• Conducts on-site inspections when needed, evaluates damages, and negotiates with insureds, claimants, attorneys, and public adjusters.
• Responds to inquiries, makes decisions, and closes files as appropriate.
• Interprets policy language and applies coverages to assigned losses.
• Keeps all parties informed of claim process and status; redirects as needed.
