Grinnell Mutual is seeking a Property Claims Adjuster-Inspector for a remote home-based role serving claims across assigned mutuals. Travel 60–80% to claim sites, inspect losses, determine coverage, and prepare scope estimates for desk adjusters.

The position emphasizes strong communication, organization, and decision-making; requires a bachelor’s degree and 2+ years in property adjusting, with CPCU/AIC desirable and Xactimate experience.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent plus 2 years property adjusting experience.
• AIC or CPCU designations preferred.
• Experience with Xactimate or similar adjusting tool preferred.

Responsibilities

• Investigates property claims for farm and homeowners through on-site investigation and interviews to determine damages.
• Determines coverages, investigates, negotiates, and settles claims per policies; sets reserves.
• Manages time to resolve cases, maintains professionalism and service quality.
• Prepares reports with findings, actions taken and documentation; may prepare files for subrogation or trial.
• Works with law enforcement to verify items and recoveries; documents restitution efforts.
