Job summary

State Farm is seeking a Property Field Inspection Claim Specialist to handle on-site inspections for homeowners, commercial properties, and large losses. You’ll be the first contact with insureds, explain coverage, estimate damages, and guide customers through the claims process with remarkable service.

The role requires travel to residential and commercial sites, strong decision-making, and the ability to interact with policyholders and agents.

Qualifications

• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, and make well-supported decisions.
• Ability to interpret detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and apply them accurately.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills to handle emotional conversations with customers.
• Proficiency in using mobile/desktop tools to document and support claims in the field and remotely.
• Strong organizational and analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Valid driver’s license is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and assessments of property damages for residential and commercial claims.
• Collaborate with policyholders, agents, and other parties to gather information and resolve claims efficiently.
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims process and address inquiries promptly.
• Gather evidence, document findings, and prepare reports to support claims handling.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Evaluate coverage and policy terms to determine claim validity and regulatory compliance.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.
