Job summary

State Farm seeks a Property Field Inspection Claim Specialist to handle accident and weather-related homeowner, commercial, and large-loss claims. You will inspect properties, explain coverage, estimate damages, and guide insureds through the claims process while delivering remarkable service.

You will conduct on-site assessments, collaborate with policyholders and agents, and manage claims up to $500,000 with a customer-first approach.

Qualifications

• Ability to investigate problems, evaluate information, and make well-supported decisions.
• Interpret detailed policies, guidelines, or technical information and apply them accurately to real-world situations.
• Quickly learn unfamiliar concepts, processes, and terminology and apply that knowledge in practical situations.
• Interact effectively with policyholders, agents, and other stakeholders to move claims forward efficiently.
• Communicate clearly and empathetically during difficult conversations with customers.
• Detail-oriented with strong organizational and analytical skills.
• Proficiency in using mobile/desktop tools to document and support claims in the field and remotely.
• May be required to complete Rope and Harness Safety Training.
• A valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

• Conduct on-site inspections and assessments of property damages for residential and commercial claims.
• Collaborate with policyholders, insurance agents, and other involved parties to gather information and resolve claims efficiently.
• Interface with emotionally charged parties during inspections or claim resolutions.
• Provide exceptional customer service throughout the claims process.
• Gather evidence, document findings, and prepare detailed reports to support the claims handling process.
• Investigate and adjust personal and commercial property claims with exposures up to $500,000.
• Evaluate coverage and policy terms to determine claim validity and compliance with local regulations.
• Negotiate and settle claims within authorized limits.
