Job summary

Travelers is seeking an Associate Claim Rep, Outside Property, to kick off a structured training program focused on insurance policy interpretation and 1st party property claims. The role will involve learning claim processes and handling claims under supervision.

The program lasts 9–12 months and requires relocation to the assigned territory in the New York City area and parts of New Jersey. A license path and ongoing education are expected to support progression to full claims handling.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in a related field or equivalent experience.
• Previous internship or work experience in customer service or insurance.
• Willingness to obtain an active adjuster license where required by state law.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook) and willingness to learn claims software.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to convey information clearly.

Responsibilities

• Participate in structured training covering insurance policies, claim processes, systems, and procedures.
• Review, investigate, and document 1st party property claims under supervision.
• Gather information from policyholders, claimants, witnesses, and third-party providers.
• Learn to determine coverage and estimate damages per policy terms.
• Maintain accurate records of claim activity in systems.
