Job summary

State Farm is offering an exciting internship in the Property & Casualty Claims Department for sophomores, juniors, or seniors graduating in December 2027, May 2028, or May 2029. The program may extend across two summers, providing an immersive experience in claim handling, property inspections, and field practices.

Interns will build skills in investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and policy application, with hands-on mentorship from senior leadership and opportunities to volunteer and expand

Qualifications

• Students majoring in Business or related fields; enrollment as a full-time student during the internship.
• Strong teamwork, critical thinking, decision-making, and customer-service orientation.

Responsibilities

• Build claim-handling skills including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and policy application.
• Work with experienced claims professionals on property claims (fire-related and weather-related).
• Learn to inspect residential and commercial properties.
• Develop safe field-inspection practices and use equipment per safety guidelines.
