State Farm is offering a summer internship in its Property & Casualty Claims department in Indianapolis. Sophomore through senior students graduating in 2027, 2028, or 2029 may apply for a two-summer program with hands-on experience in claim handling, inspections, and negotiations.

The internship runs June 2, 2027 to August 11, 2027, pays $24.00/hour, and includes a $2,000 stipend. It is remote with a scheduled in-person hub week and requires full-time student status throughout the program.

Qualifications

• Students majoring in Business, Risk Management/Insurance, Psychology, Criminal Justice, Construction Management, Property Management —or other majors that align with our Claims’ business needs.
• Passionate team players with sharp critical thinking, sound decision‑making skills, excellent communication, keen attention to detail, and a strong customer focus.

Responsabilités

• Build claim-handling skills, including investigation, evaluation, negotiation, and policy application.
• Work alongside experienced claims professionals on property claims, including fire-related and weather-related losses.
• Learn to inspect residential and commercial properties.
• Develop safe field-inspection practices and use appropriate equipment in accordance with safety guidelines.
• Benefit from mentorship and access to senior leadership.
• Make an impact through volunteer opportunities while building your professional network.
