Job summary

MCD is seeking an Associate Manager - Finance and Accounting to implement project infrastructure and oversee cradle-to-grave finances, including start-up, close-out, budgeting, and donor reporting.

The role reports to the Senior Manager for Project Finance and Accounting and requires strong GAAP knowledge, USG rules, and proficiency with Excel and financial reporting tools. A hybrid option is available for those near the Hallowell, ME office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or a related field.
• 6-10 years of progressive experience in financial management, preferably in a nonprofit environment.
• Expert knowledge of USG Rules and Regulations, including FAR and 2 CFR 200.
• Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication abilities; proficient in financial software and reporting tools.
• Cradle-to-grave project finances experience including start-up, close-out, and donor reporting.

Responsibilities

• Oversees project finance operations, including reporting, accounts payable/receivable, and month- and year-end close.
• Manages project budgets, invoices, variances, and donor reporting to ensure compliance with GAAP and donor policies.
• Prepares wire transfers and manages treasury to maintain proper funding levels for country offices.
• Prepares FFATA submissions and collaborates on financial forecasting and program budgeting.
• Coordinates audits and supports training staff on finance procedures.
