MCD Global Health is seeking an Accounting Associate to join the Corporate Finance and Accounting team in Hallowell, Maine. This entry-level role focuses on processing accounts payable, journal entries, deposits, and reconciliations, with backup support for the finance staff.

The successful candidate should have a bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field (or an associate’s with related experience) and strong communication, organizational, and time-management skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in accounting, business or financial related field is required.
• Associate’s degree or equivalent related work experience.
• Preferred experience with general ledger and accounts payable duties.
• Excellent verbal, written, and active listening skills, with the ability to communicate effectively across teams.
• Proficiency in current Microsoft Office applications is required.
• Nonprofit experience is preferred, with a strong preference for someone who has operated in a fast-growing environment with limited budgets and resources.
• Experience with Blackbaud Financial Edge NXT or similar financial management software is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Process accounts payable and related clerical duties.
• Post journal entries and deposit checks to bank.
• Perform accounts receivable postings and account reconciliations.
• Assist with annual audit documentation collection and other finance tasks.
• Serve as a back-up to other finance staff as needed.
