Job summary

The Auditor Of State's Local Government Services (LGS) Division seeks a Project Accountant 1 to provide forecasting, reconstruction of financial records, and financial analysis for Ohio's local governments across all regions.

You will assist higher level staff with GAAP conversions, reconciliations, and fiscal analyses while gathering data, preparing work papers, and presenting reports to clients and officials in a time‑budgeted, professional manner.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting or related field is required (or equivalent).
• Microsoft Office knowledge (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint) preferred.
• Travel to Audit Site Work Locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist higher level LGS employees with financial forecasting, GAAP conversion, reconciliations and reconstruction of records.
• Prepare work papers and support local government services procedures and techniques.
• Meet with local government officials to discuss reports and findings with higher level staff present.
• Aid in documentation of transaction cycles and accounting procedures.
