Job summary

GBQ Holdings LLC seeks a State and Local Tax Project Professional to support clients and staff in tax compliance projects across multi-state returns, registrations, and payroll tax work. You will help manage calendars, notices, and research under the guidance of a Performance Manager.

Two year accounting degree or 3+ years experience preferred; proficient in Excel and Word; reliable transportation for occasional on-site client work is required. This role is non-exempt and based in Ohio.

Qualifications

• Two year accounting degree or three or more years of experience as a successful bookkeeper or accountant.
• Experience in the preparation of corporation and/or pass-through entity income tax returns preferred.
• Working knowledge or previous experience of state online filing and payment platforms is preferred but not required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Excel and Word.

Responsibilities

• State and local tax compliance services, including multistate income/franchise tax and gross receipts tax returns, state/local business licenses and annual reports, and the opportunity to participate in other state and local tax projects.
• Prepare multistate and local sales/use and employment tax registrations.
• Assist with federal and multistate payroll tax research and compliance projects.
• Manage compliance processes for several clients on a monthly, quarterly, semi-annual and annual basis.
• Manage monthly tax calendar to ensure proper client communication and timely filing of returns.
• Handle appropriate income/franchise tax and business license correspondence, including the management of notices.
• Correspondence with state and local tax jurisdictions.
• Conduct tax research where necessary.
