Job summary

Auditor Of State is seeking a Project Accountant 1 in Marion, Ohio. The role supports the Local Government Services division with forecasting, reconstruction of financial records, and financial analysis for local governments in nearby counties.

The position requires a bachelor’s in accounting (or equivalent) with experience or coursework in accounting, plus proficiency in Microsoft Office. Travel to audit sites is expected.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or equivalent accounting coursework.
• Knowledge of Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
• Travel to audit site locations as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist higher level LGS employees with financial forecasting and GAAP conversions.
• Reconstruct financial records and perform reconciliations for local governments.
• Prepare local government service reports and meet with officials alongside senior staff.
• Study transaction cycles and document accounting procedures to aid accuracy.
