Job summary

Auditor Of State, through its Local Government Services (LGS) division in Marion, OH, seeks a Project Accountant 1 to assist with financial forecasting, reconstruction of records, and analysis for local governments in Northwest Region. The role requires strong accounting knowledge and close collaboration with senior staff.

The position offers full-time hours, competitive pay, and benefits. Travel to audit site locations is required, with opportunities to contribute to fiscal emergency analyses

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field or 16 semester hours in accounting or related field
• At least 3 years’ accounting experience or equivalent
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and travel to audit sites

Responsibilities

• Assist in financial forecasting and GAAP conversions for local governments
• Prepare work papers and reconciliations for review by senior staff
• Support in reconstructing financial records and conducting financial analyses
• Meet with local officials to discuss findings with supervision
