Job summary

Albany Med Health System is seeking a Professional Coder to review, analyze, and validate CPT and ICD-10 codes and charges to ensure compliance with federal and state regulations and carrier guidelines. The role is remote and requires 1–3 years of provider professional fee coding experience.

You will perform accurate coding, understand NCCI edits, and assist with audits while maintaining productivity and quality. Collaboration with providers and staff is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma/G.E.D. required.
• 1-3 years of provider professional fee coding experience preferred.
• Experience with provider professional fee coding and charge processing.
• Proficient in Windows environment; Microsoft Word and Excel.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Coding credentials through AHIMA or AAPC in good standing.

Responsibilities

• Review, analyze, and validate CPT and ICD-10 codes and charges to ensure regulatory compliance.
• Perform accurate coding of CPT and ICD-10 DX codes.
• Understand NCCI edits and RVUs as applicable.
• Meet productivity and quality standards; review denials and respond timely.
• Perform coding audits as directed; support testing of coding workflows.
• Attend departmental meetings and participate in staff development.
