Job summary

Datavant is seeking a Profee Auditing Specialist to perform professional fee coding audits across medical records, applying ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers with precise justification. This fully remote role offers a flexible schedule and a strong emphasis on accuracy and education for coders.

Ideal candidates have 5+ years of professional fee coding or auditing experience, CPC certification, and familiarity with Epic or Cerner EMRs.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of Professional Fee coding and/or auditing.
• Maintain 95% accuracy rate.
• Must be CPC certified.

Responsibilities

• Performs Professional Fee coding audits of medical records and abstracts using ICD-10-CM, CPT, HCPCS, and modifiers and appropriate coding references for accurate coding assignment.
• Provides rationale explaining the reasoning behind identified changes with references and documentation locations.
• Keeps abreast of regulatory changes.
• Organizes and prioritizes multiple cases concurrently to ensure workflow and case resolution.
• Provides coder education via the auditing process.
• Adhere to AHIMA’s code of ethics.
• Must be customer-service focused and professional.
• High complexity of work function and decision making.
• Strong organizational, teamwork, and leadership skills.
