Job summary

Tailscale is seeking a Product Manager to own the native apps experience, including TSNet, tailscale-rs, and the tailscale CLI. You will define what a Tailscale-native application means and craft the reference architectures, golden paths, and embedding patterns for developers to use.

You will own the developer experience end-to-end, shaping onboarding flows, API ergonomics, and sample code. You will set the Rust SDK strategy and treat the CLI as a product for automation teams, CI, and platform

Qualifications

6+ years in product management or equivalent technical background with developer-focused work.
You have shipped developer-facing features (SDKs, APIs, CLIs) used in production.
You can read Go and/or Rust and discuss API/SDK design credibly.
You have a strong sense of API ergonomics, docs, and getting-started flows.
You perform customer research via issues, Discord, office hours, and pattern finding.

Responsibilities

Own the roadmap for the native apps experience (TSNet, tailscale-rs, tailscale CLI).
Define what a Tailscale-native application means with reference architectures and patterns.
Own the developer experience end-to-end, including onboarding and upgrade paths.
Set Rust SDK strategy and port priorities; treat CLI as a product for automation users.
Run internal dogfooding and align with GTM, Customer Success, and partners.
