Job summary

Realtime Robotics, Inc. seeks a Senior Desktop Applications Engineer to lead the cross‑platform desktop client development for Windows, macOS, and Linux, tightly integrated with our cloud platform.

You will steer architecture, code integrity, and release pipelines, while delivering fast, native-feeling experiences from a single codebase. You will build rich TypeScript/React interfaces with interactive 3D visualization, integrate native/C++ components, and ensure secure, scalable delivery.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of professional software engineering experience, including production desktop applications.
• Deep hands-on experience developing Electron desktop apps with main/renderer processes, IPC, preload scripts, and security.
• Demonstrated cross-platform development experience: shipped and supported apps on multiple platforms.
• Strong TypeScript/JavaScript, React, and frontend tooling expertise.
• Experience with desktop packaging, code signing, notarization, and auto update tooling.
• Ability to debug across process and language boundaries: renderer, main, native modules, and network.
• Excellent English communication; able to work from our Boston, MA office ~50% of the time.

Responsibilities

• Guide architecture, development, and release of our desktop application across Windows, macOS, Linux.
• Build rich, responsive interfaces in TypeScript and React with interactive 3D visualization.
• Maintain boundary between desktop client and cloud backend, including auth and job submission.
• Keep app fast and resilient when network is slow or offline with a local-first data model.
• Manage release pipeline: multi-platform CI, code signing, notarization, and auto updates.
• Integrate native and C++ components into the desktop runtime.
• Collaborate with product, design, robotics, and cloud engineers to set priorities.
• Contribute to development in a fast-moving startup environment.
