Job summary

Corning Inc. is seeking a Mechanical Design Engineer to develop innovative fiber optics and hardware solutions.

You will own mechanical concepts, create 3D CAD models and drawings, and work with teams across disciplines worldwide to bring products from concept to production. You will drive design validation, engage in patent-related activities, and mentor CAD resources while collaborating with manufacturing to ensure smooth scale-up.

Qualifications

• BS in Engineering; Mechanical preferred
• 2–5 years in product/design/NPI
• Experience designing injection molded or sheet metal parts desirable
• Experience with design of experiments desirable
• Strong communication in English; able to collaborate in a global matrix

Responsibilities

• Conceptualize mechanical design solutions for new product development
• Provide 3D CAD models and 2D drawings for concept, evaluation, and patent apps
• Lead projects from a design engineering perspective
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams across domestic and global locations
• Release new products with manufacturing teams in full-scale production
• Prepare technical reports and communicate findings clearly
