National Association of State Departments of Agriculture seeks a remote NASS Engagement Program Specialist to increase producer awareness of NASS surveys and drive participation across Iowa and Nebraska. The role focuses on building partnerships with agricultural stakeholders and measuring engagement outcomes.

Qualifications include a relevant degree or equivalent experience, 5+ years in agricultural communications, and strong written and verbal communications skills.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in agriculture, communications, or public affairs.
• Minimum 5 years in agricultural communications, stakeholder engagement, public affairs, or related field.
• Understanding of U.S. agriculture; familiarity with USDA NASS surveys or producer outreach preferred.
• Experience building relationships with agricultural organizations and government agencies.
• Experience developing outreach or communications strategies with measurable outcomes.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills and presentations.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail; able to manage multiple priorities.
• Willingness to travel regularly for meetings and events.
• Experience with email marketing and distribution using Mailchimp or similar tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute producer engagement strategy to increase awareness and participation in NASS surveys.
• Lead state-specific engagement plans leveraging agricultural stakeholders.
• Track performance metrics to evaluate engagement activities.
• Maintain relationships with state departments of agriculture and industry stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to leverage networks to improve awareness and participation.
• Represent NASDA at events both in-person and virtual.
• Analyze engagement data to identify improvements and outcomes.
• Create and share communications materials as needed.
