Job summary

The National Association of State Departments of Agriculture (NASDA) seeks a remote Program Job Description role based in North Dakota to grow awareness of NASS surveys among producers and agricultural organizations.

Reporting to the Associate Director of Producer Engagement, you will develop engagement strategies, build stakeholder networks, track metrics, and promote survey participation across ND and neighboring states.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in agriculture, communications, public affairs.
• Minimum of 5 years in agricultural communications, stakeholder engagement, or related field.
• Thorough understanding of U.S. agriculture; familiarity with USDA NASS surveys preferred.
• Experience building and maintaining relationships with agricultural organizations and government agencies.
• Experience developing outreach, engagement, or communications strategies with measurable outcomes.
• Exceptional verbal and written communication, including public speaking.
• Willingness to travel regularly; must reside in North Dakota.

Responsibilities

• Develop and execute NASDA's producer engagement strategy to increase awareness and participation in NASS surveys.
• Lead state-specific engagement plans leveraging trusted stakeholders to boost producer response rates.
• Track performance metrics to evaluate engagement activities and survey promotion efforts.
• Maintain relationships with state departments, commodity organizations, Extension services, producer groups, and other stakeholders.
• Identify opportunities to leverage existing networks to improve awareness and participation.
• Represent NASDA at in-person and virtual events within the designated state or region.
• Analyze response-rate trends and engagement data to identify improvements and measure program effectiveness.
• Develop and share communication materials as needed.
