Job summary

Emerson is seeking an Entry-level Field Service Engineer to join the Power & Water Solutions team in Houston, TX. You will upgrade plant control systems and work with customers to implement reliable automation solutions, traveling up to 80% of the time.

You will collaborate with project teams, learn from hands-on field experiences, and develop skills in troubleshooting, planning, and customer engagement in critical infrastructure sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science, or an equivalent combination of experience and education.
• Up to 80% travel, typically one week in duration, with heavier travel during outage seasons.

Responsibilities

• Perform on-site instruction of customer personnel and provide complete reports on activities.
• Direct the efforts of personnel engaged in installation or modification/repair of control systems.
• Provide engineering advisory assistance to customers and liaise within the company on equipment issues.
• Cultivate relationships with internal project teams, customer project teams, and contractors.
• Apply troubleshooting, problem-solving, and planning skills.
