Job summary

Emerson Power & Water Solutions in Latham, NY, seeks a Senior Controls Engineer - Gas Turbine Solutions to lead design, development, and implementation of gas turbine control system solutions for modernization and retrofit projects across North America, using Emerson's Ovation platform.

You will collaborate with customers, project managers, field engineers, and cross-functional teams to deliver successful outcomes.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Engineering, related STEM field, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
5+ years of experience in controls engineering, automation, power generation, or a related industrial environment.

Responsibilities

Lead the design, development, and implementation of gas turbine control system solutions for modernization and retrofit projects.
Apply expertise in turbine control philosophy, startup sequencing, combustion control, fuel management, protection systems, and operational optimization.
Develop, configure, document, and test control logic, automation applications, and operator interface solutions utilizing Emerson's Ovation platform.
Serve as a technical resource throughout the project lifecycle, supporting engineering design, customer reviews, testing activities, commissioning, and startup.
Collaborate directly with customers, project managers, field engineers, and cross-functional engineering teams to deliver successful project outcomes.
Diagnose and resolve complex control system and operational issues using real-world plant data and engineering analysis.
Lead and participate in FAT, SAT, system integration activities, and onsite commissioning efforts.
Support continuous improvement of engineering standards, software libraries, testing methodologies, and best practices.
Provide technical mentorship and knowledge sharing within the engineering organization.
Help customers navigate modernization strategies by contributing technical expertise and practical operational insight.
