Job summary

Placements24 is seeking a Process Design Engineer for a fully remote role in the United States. You will design and optimize green chemical processes, run simulations, and assess techno-economics to minimize energy use and waste while integrating renewable feedstocks.

Collaboration happens digitally with R&D and project teams from your home office. The ideal candidate holds an MS/PhD in Chemical Engineering with 6+ years of experience in process design, and proficiency in Aspen Plus or Chemcad.

Qualifications

• MS or PhD in Chemical Engineering with a focus on green chemistry.
• 6+ years of experience in chemical process design and development.
• Experience with Aspen Plus or Chemcad.

Responsibilities

• Design novel chemical processes with sustainability and green chemistry.
• Perform process simulations and techno-economic assessments.
• Optimize processes to reduce energy, waste, and emissions.
• Evaluate equipment for sustainable chemical manufacturing.
• Collaborate remotely with R&D, engineering, and sustainability teams.
• Develop PFDs, P&IDs, and equipment specs for pilot scale processes.
• Conduct process hazard analyses for new/modified green processes.
• Stay updated on green chemistry, catalysis, and sustainable practice.
