Job summary

DxTx Pain & Spine is hiring a Prior Authorization Coordinator for a remote, full-time role. You will manage the entire authorization process for interventional pain management procedures, coordinating with practices, payors, and patients to secure approvals.

Requirements include 1+ year in prior authorization within pain management, HIPAA knowledge, and proficiency with Microsoft Office. The position emphasizes accuracy, collaboration, and patient-centered care.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED is required.
• At least 1 year of prior authorization and clinical setting experience is required.
• Experience working within Pain Management is required.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Knowledge of HIPAA privacy and security requirements.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Familiarity with payor portals and medical policy navigation.
• Must be able to sit for extended periods, communicate clearly, perform computer-based tasks, and lift up to 25 lbs.

Responsibilities

• Monitor advanced procedure trackers for each practice to identify authorization opportunities.
• Collect all required documentation for prior authorizations.
• Review medical necessity guidelines for procedures by Payor.
• Submit prior and retro authorization requests to payors promptly and accurately.
• Document account activity and update patient and claim information for efficient processing.
• Identify trends or issues delaying authorization or claims processing.
• Communicate with practices, vendors, insurers, patients, and management to secure approvals.
• Provide high levels of customer service to internal teams.
• Serve as a backup to the Contact Center during peak scheduling times.
