Job summary

SAIC is seeking a Principal Software Development Engineer in Test to join the Joint Range Extension (JRE) software development team in a remote-capable role within the United States. The position requires a US citizenship and a Secret clearance eligibility; travel up to 10% CONUS.

The role focuses on expanding automated test coverage across JVM-based and C++ components, mentoring engineers, and delivering high-quality, scalable test solutions for mission-critical defense software.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience building test automation for large-scale codebases.
• Proven ability to verify mission-critical, high-reliability systems.
• Strong knowledge of JVM testing frameworks and modern tooling.

Responsibilities

• Expand JRE's unit, integration, service, GUI, and end-to-end test automation.
• Engineer and maintain a comprehensive automated performance test suite (load, stress, endurance).
• Design, develop, and maintain simulators for data link terminals, radios, and sensors.
• Contribute to verification of minimum system requirements for deployment platforms.
• Refactor code for testability with API, RPC, and messaging seams.
