Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Principal Network Engineer to support the IHS PATH EHR modernization program. You’ll lead network design, implement VLAN micro-segmentation, and ensure secure, scalable connectivity for federal healthcare systems.

This remote, US-based role requires maintaining a Public Trust Level 5 and coordinating with IHS, GDIT cybersecurity, and vendor teams across time zones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent combination of education and experience.
• 8+ years of experience supporting medium-to-large IT projects.
• US citizenship not required.
• Ability to obtain SSBI (T5) public trust clearance.
• Experience with FedRAMP-authorized cloud environment (OCI preferred).
• Travel up to 25% of the year.

Responsibilities

• Implement network requirements to meet customer and program objectives.
• Create device mappings for VLAN micro-segmentation for facility deployments.
• Troubleshoot OCI connections, VLAN configurations, interfaces, and PPSM topics.
• Collaborate with cybersecurity to align with NIST CSF, NIST 800-53 and agency policies; collect artifacts for ATO approvals.
• Develop routing strategies for network traffic with IHS and GDIT teams.
• Work with Configuration Management and Change Management teams.
• Participate in cross-functional teams implementing new vendor capabilities and greenfield initiatives.
• Maintain current knowledge of rapidly changing technology and evolve processes.
