Job summary
General Dynamics Information Technology seeks a Cloud Network Security Architecture Manager to lead secure network and cloud architecture design across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments. You will guide TIC 3.0 modernization, enterprise gateway operations, and security decisions to support VA OIT connectivity and compliance.
You will collaborate with engineering, cyber, and operations teams to align solutions with VA objectives, manage risks, and communicate architectural impacts to leadership.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- 10+ years of related experience.
- Experience designing or managing cloud, network, or security architectures.
- Hands-on familiarity with AWS, Azure, hybrid networking, firewalls, DNS, and IAM concepts.
- Understanding of cloud security principles and federal cybersecurity frameworks.
- Experience with automation, scripting, or infrastructure-as-code tools.
- Coordinate across multiple teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
- Support escalations or critical events when needed.

Join GDIT to support the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) through the NEDIIS program. As the Cloud Network Security Architecture Manager, you will lead secure network and cloud architecture design, TIC 3.0 modernization, and enterprise gateway operations across hybrid and multi‑cloud environments. You will guide security decisions, ensure compliance, and support mission‑critical connectivity for VA OIT.
- Lead secure architecture design across AWS, Azure, and VA enterprise networks.

- Partner with engineering, cyber, and operations teams to align solutions with VA objectives.

- Contribute to reporting, documentation, audits, and configuration reviews.

This role will require you to obtain and maintain a Public Trust Security Suitability and will require you to provide onsite fingerprinting at a designated facility. This investigation may review personal and criminal behavior, financial conduct, foreign influence, as well as other adjudications.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
- Prior work designing or supporting federal‑grade perimeter security (e.g., Zero Trust, encrypted traffic inspection, identity‑centric access controls, cloud boundary protections) that aligns with TIC 3.0 requirements is highly desired.
- Experience designing or managing cloud, network, or security architectures.
- Hands‑on familiarity with AWS, Azure, hybrid networking, firewalls, DNS, and identity/IAM concepts.
- Understanding of cloud security principles and federal cybersecurity frameworks.
- Experience with automation, scripting, or infrastructure‑as‑code tools.
- Ability to coordinate across multiple teams and communicate clearly with stakeholders.
- Ability to support escalations or critical events when needed.
- AWS Solutions Architect – Professional
- Azure Solutions Architect Expert
- VMware certifications
- Kubernetes/CKA/CKAD or OpenShift
- Terraform Associate
Public Trust clearance required.
Hybrid position in Martinsburg, WV or Austin, TX – must work a regular weekly schedule with 2 to 3 days onsite as needed.

The likely salary range for this position is $114,750 - $155,250. This is not, however, a guarantee of compensation or salary. Rather, salary will be set based on experience, geographic location and possibly contractual requirements and could fall outside of this range.
