Job summary

ICF seeks a Principal Grid Analytics Engineer to lead a growing team and shape the future of electric utility solutions through advanced power systems modeling and analytics. This is a fully remote role serving US clients.

You will mentor engineers, manage projects, develop scopes, timelines, and budgets, and build client relationships to win new work. Proficiency with CAPE, PSSE, PSCAD, CYME, and Python scripting is highly valued.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, Power Engineering or related field.
• 12 years of experience in electrical engineering theories and principles, e.g. transmission and distribution system modeling, short circuit and power flow analysis, arc flash calculations, voltage imbalance studies, and thermal ratings.
• 5 years' experience working at an electric utility (IOU, municipal, or cooperative).

Responsibilities

• Team and client management
• Leading and managing a small, skilled team in power systems modeling and analytics for utility clients
• Mentoring and training less experienced engineers
• Pursuing continuous improvement of job-related engineering knowledge and skills
• Forecasting, tracking hours, budgeting, milestones, scheduling meetings, and delegating tasks
• Interacting with prospective clients to demonstrate ICF's expertise and attract new business
• Developing scopes of work, project timelines, and budget estimates
• Participating in weekly meetings with clients to deliver project status updates
• Engineering responsibilities including model creation, revision, and maintenance in CAPE, ASPEN, PSSE, PSCAD, CYME, Synergi, and WindMil; Arc Flash analysis; LiDAR-based analyses
