Job summary

Eliassen Group seeks a Principal Data Scientist to scale Data Science and AI for end-to-end payment optimization. This remote, contract-to-hire role involves real-time model deployment, strategy leadership, and mentoring elite data scientists.

You will work with ML engineers, product partners, and cross-functional teams to deliver production-grade AI solutions. Requirements include 7+ years in ML, 5+ years in real-time systems, strong Python/SQL, and excellent communication.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in ML research or engineering
• 5+ years building large-scale, real-time ML systems in production
• Proficiency in Python and SQL; NoSQL/Graph DBs a plus
• Demonstrated ability to lead solution design and execution
• Exceptional communication with technical and business audiences
• Bonus: payments/fintech exposure and cloud experience

Responsibilities

• Define technical vision and strategy for data-driven initiatives in payment optimization
• Develop scalable real-time ML model capabilities and monitoring
• Oversee ML model development, deployment, and maintenance
• Enforce best practices for ML modeling and tooling
• Mentor senior data scientists and lead cross-functional collaboration
• Collaborate with product, engineering, data, and compliance teams to integrate ML into products
• Establish operating model for ML R&D to optimize value delivery
