Job summary

Eliassen Group is seeking a Principal Data Scientist to scale data science and AI for end-to-end payment optimization. You will collaborate with ML engineers and product partners to design and deploy real-time models and intelligent decision engines, drive strategy and roadmaps, and mentor senior data science talent.

The role balances hands-on coding with architectural leadership, reviews, and production‑grade ML solutions. This is a contract-to-hire position with W2 benefits.

Qualifications

• 7+ years in ML research or engineering with 5+ years building real-time ML systems
• Hands-on experience delivering production-grade ML models
• Strong knowledge of ML lifecycle and experimentation

Responsibilities

• Define technical vision and strategy for data-driven product initiatives in payment optimization.
• Develop scalable real-time ML models and monitoring systems.
• Lead design reviews, code reviews, and implementation across teams.
• Mentor senior data scientists and collaborate with product, engineering, and compliance.
• Communicate complex concepts to executives and cross-functional partners.
