Job summary

UnitedHealth Group is seeking a Principal Business Systems Analyst to lead VBC Interoperability and EHR integration work with Epic and external vendors. This telecommute role offers nationwide remote work, with in-office cadence in Minneapolis or Washington, DC as needed.

You will design AI-powered solutions, drive complex system analyses, and partner with stakeholders to enhance clinical and operational workflows while ensuring governance and safe AI use.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in a healthcare environment with stakeholders and tech teams.
• 4+ years Epic Analyst experience with Epic certification and modules.
• Hands-on with HL7, CDS Hooks, FHIR APIs and data integration.
• Experience with enterprise AI tools and automated workflows.
• Clinical workflows, CAB governance, and approvals experience.
• APIs and FHIR resources understanding.
• Experience with API testing tools (Insomnia, Postman) and troubleshooting.

Responsibilities

• Establish relationships with client stakeholders and vendors to enable success.
• Design and deploy AI-powered solutions addressing clinical/workflow challenges.
• Leverage AI tools to streamline workflows and automate tasks.
• Evaluate AI/tech trends to inform solution design and innovation.
• Coordinate with Epic teams to integrate new functionality and upgrades.
• Lead EHR development tasks and align roadmaps with team goals.
• Communicate with customers, users, and technical staff effectively.
• Produce BRDs, Current/Future State diagrams, and product roadmaps.
• Develop measurements to detect issues before outages or data quality problems.
