Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology, Inc. seeks a seasoned Principal Software Architect for a 100% remote role, guiding cloud-native, scalable enterprise architectures and modernization initiatives.

You will lead architecture practices, mentor teams, and advance AI‑assisted software engineering, secure identity (Zero Trust, OAuth2, SAML), data integration with Databricks, and platform innovation on AWS and Kubernetes.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience designing cloud-native, scalable enterprise architectures.
• Proven track record in modernizing enterprise applications and guiding AI-enabled engineering.
• Strong background in security, identity, and data integration for large-scale systems.

Responsibilities

• Design and guide cloud-native, scalable, and secure enterprise architectures, modernization strategies, and technical standards aligned with organizational objectives.
• Lead software architecture practices, establish engineering standards, mentor development teams, and modernize enterprise applications using cloud-native patterns.
• Architect enterprise platforms on AWS and Kubernetes, defining frameworks that strengthen scalability, security, reliability, and developer efficiency.
• Accelerate enterprise adoption of Generative AI by creating task-specific AI agents, enabling AI-assisted software engineering, and promoting spec-driven development with tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot.
• Develop enterprise data integration and analytics solutions using Databricks, incorporating third-party APIs and designing scalable, high-performance data architectures.
• Architect secure identity and access solutions using Zero Trust, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, Okta, and Keycloak to ensure platform security and regulatory compliance.
