Job summary

General Dynamics Information Technology is seeking a Principal Software Architect (100% remote) with 5+ years of enterprise software development and cloud-native architecture experience to drive AI-enabled modernization initiatives.

You will design scalable architectures on AWS and Kubernetes, mentor teams, and promote secure, Zero Trust-based identity and integration strategies across APIs and data platforms. This senior role requires US citizenship and the ability to obtain required clearances.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of related experience.
• Experience with API integration in large-scale enterprise software.
• Security and cloud-architecture experience recommended.

Responsibilities

• Design and guide cloud-native, scalable, and secure enterprise architectures, modernization strategies, and technical standards aligned with organizational objectives.
• Lead software architecture practices, establish engineering standards, mentor development teams, and modernize enterprise applications using cloud-native patterns.
• Architect enterprise platforms on AWS and Kubernetes, defining frameworks that strengthen scalability, security, reliability, and developer efficiency.
• Accelerate enterprise adoption of Generative AI by creating task-specific AI agents, enabling AI-assisted software engineering, and promoting spec-driven development with tools such as Claude Code and GitHub Copilot.
• Develop enterprise data integration and analytics solutions using Databricks, incorporating third-party APIs and designing scalable, high-performance data architectures.
• Architect secure identity and access solutions using Zero Trust, OAuth2, OIDC, SAML, Okta, and Keycloak to ensure platform security and regulatory compliance.
