Job summary

HealthEquity, Inc. is seeking a Principal Security Engineer, AI Offensive Security to build and operate agentic systems that automate security testing across web apps and cloud environments.

You will translate offensive security techniques into scalable automation within established architectural patterns and security standards, enhancing vulnerability discovery and remediation while reducing manual work.

Qualifications

• 10+ years of experience in software engineering, offensive security, penetration testing, or related discipline.
• Experience delivering production software or automation solutions.
• Ability to explain technical risks to both technical and non-technical audiences.

Responsibilities

• Build and operate offensive security agents to automate reconnaissance, enumeration, and vulnerability validation.
• Develop agentic workflows for attack surface and vulnerability management programs.
• Implement AI-enabled security capabilities with governance and human-in-the-loop controls.
• Integrate security tooling with ticketing, asset inventories, CI/CD, and threat intel sources.
• Validate findings, reproduce vulnerabilities, and assist risk prioritization.
• Support penetration testing and purple-team activities to validate controls and remediation efforts.
