Job summary

Motorola Solutions is seeking an Intern Presales System Engineer to work with our Communications Systems Engineers from concept to implementation, helping design radio and network solutions for customers. You will collaborate with sales, product development, and project management to craft proposals and support pre-sales activities in a remote full-time role for candidates in the Northeast.

Ideal candidates are pursuing a Bachelor’s or Master’s degree with an expected graduation after December

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree; graduation after December 2027; returning Fall 2027.
• Legal authorization to work in the U.S. indefinitely is required; employer sponsorship is not available.
• Excellent communications skills and the ability to present complex topics to non-technical audiences
• Self-motivated and able to maintain focus in a pressured environment
• Experience working with customers is desirable
• Experience/ Knowledge in radio systems, radio propagation, RF, wireless, broadband, microwave, and/or networking is desirable.
• Experience/ Knowledge of communications networks (MPLS, Ethernet, TCP/IP) is desirable
• Certifications through CCNA, CompTIA, and/ or Amateur Radio/ HAM is desirable

Responsibilities

• In cooperation with sales, product development, and project management they develop technical strategies and generate proposals to customers presenting Motorola's solution.
• Provide coordination with the design and planning of the customer solutions using advanced technologies and provide technical support throughout the pre-sales phase of the project.
• Involves coverage and antenna site selection, frequency planning, interference analysis, design of system architecture, equipment selection, proposal generation, and presentations of proposed solutions to customer.
• Engaged in the implementation of these solutions as originally conceived.
• Take responsibility for all technical aspects of the assigned project from award until system acceptance.
• Involves implementation planning, system acceptance testing, coverage testing, and system staging.
• Work to ensure that the our sales professionals and customers are kept up to date on the latest technology offerings from Motorola Solutions and their relevance to customer needs.
