Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise Development LP is seeking a Presales Storage Backup Architect focused on unstructured data and hybrid cloud. You will design scalable backup architectures, size targets, and guide customers through POCs and proofs of concept with a focus on fast recovery using advanced storage platforms.

The role emphasizes collaboration with sales and engineering, extensive backup expertise, and travel to key customers as needed.

Qualifications

8+ years of hands-on experience designing, sizing, and positioning enterprise storage solutions with customer-facing presales.
Experience sizing storage targets for backup and recovery from incomplete customer data.
Deep understanding of backup administration, including RPO/RTO, retention, and replication.
Knowledge of deduplication and compression and data reduction concepts.
Experience with at least two backup platforms (Commvault, Veeam, Cohesity).
Hands-on with Dell EMC Data Domain and DD Boost concepts.
Knowledge of S3, NFS, and SMB for enterprise storage.
Experience planning and documenting customer POCs and performance validations.
Excellent discovery, troubleshooting, communication, and executive-facing skills.
Bachelor’s degree in CS/IT/Engineering or equivalent.

Responsibilities

Partner with customers to assess backup environments and design scalable storage architectures.
Size backup targets using capacity, growth, retention, and recovery objectives.
Translate backup configurations into storage capacity, throughput, and networking requirements.
Evaluate data reduction behavior and implications on sizing.
Lead customer workshops, assessments, and proofs of concept with measurable success criteria.
Provide competitive insights on backup targets and architectures.
Collaborate with sales, services, product management, and engineering to shape solutions.
Maintain knowledge of unstructured data and hybrid cloud strategies for fast-recovery architecture.
Travel as needed to support strategic customers and internal teams.
