Job summary

Hewlett Packard Enterprise is seeking a Pre-Sales Systems Engineer to support State Government and Higher Education customers throughout Kentucky. You will work as a technical leader, partnering with Account Managers, customers, and channel partners to define future-state network architectures across the HPE Networking portfolio.

The ideal candidate has strong Layer 2/3 networking fundamentals, excellent communication, and the ability to translate business needs into practical architectures.

Qualifications

• 5+ years in pre-sales engineering or related technical role.
• Strong Layer 2/3 networking fundamentals across routing, switching, wireless, and security.
• Ability to translate customer requirements into practical architectures.
• Excellent customer-facing communication and presentation skills.
• Knowledge of cloud-managed networking, SD-WAN, data center networking, and AI-driven ops is preferred.
• Willingness to travel up to 60% within Kentucky/Ohio/Indiana vicinity.

Responsibilities

• Lead technical discovery and translate customer challenges into solution architectures.
• Partner with Account Managers to develop strategies and drive opportunities to closure.
• Deliver demos, whiteboarding sessions, workshops, POCs, and evaluations.
• Differentiate HPE Networking and articulate customer value against competitors.
• Collaborate with channel partners and internal specialists on RFPs and engagements.
• Continuously grow expertise in HPE Aruba/Juniper technologies and emerging networks.
