Job summary

Turner Construction Company is seeking an experienced preconstruction leader to manage BU estimating for our Advanced Technology Group. This role supports multiple market segments and can be performed remotely from anywhere in the United States, with Phoenix, AZ as a project location reference in this posting.

You will oversee estimation processes, develop and reconcile bids, build strong client and trade partner relationships, and drive value engineering and cost control across milestones.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Architecture/Construction Management or related field with 10+ years' construction experience.
• Experience with a variety of building types and ability to manage estimating teams.
• Strong understanding of drawings, specs, contracts, materials, means and methods.
• Ability to analyze estimating documents and provide clear variances.
• Excellent client relationship development and sales opportunity identification.
• Advanced project management and leadership abilities.
• Regional market knowledge and industry trend awareness.
• Negotiation and executive presentation skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead BU Estimating and allocate resources during preconstruction.
• Oversee reimbursement of estimating staff and G&A costs.
• Develop relationships with clients, architects, and trade partners.
• Participate in hiring, onboarding, and performance reviews.
• Review drawings and specs, flag design risks to senior management.
• Develop lump sum bids and obtain senior management approval.
• Coordinate GC/GR estimate development and cost trends.
• Support proposals and client presentations with BD.
• Coordinate with Procurement on schedules and subcontractor bids.
• Lead Value Engineering during preconstruction.
• Lead or support Target Value Design for select projects.
