Job summary

SOLV Energy is a leading provider of infrastructure services to the power industry, designing, building and maintaining utility scale solar, battery storage and high voltage substation projects nationwide. The Preconstruction Project Manager leads the Preconstruction Group’s efforts with daily management, coordination, and successful completion of the project scope, budget, and schedule from notice of award to project mobilization.

This role is fully remote.

Qualifications

• Engineering, Construction Management or Architectural degree, or equivalent experience.
• Thorough understanding of plans and specifications.
• Field experience (5–8 years, Project Engineer or Assistant Superintendent).
• Leadership to manage a remote, diverse team.
• Strong written and verbal communication and organizational skills.
• Proficiency with MS Office and Bluebeam Revu.
• Basic knowledge of contract law and project accounting.
• Willingness to travel about 25%.
• 5+ years construction experience and 2+ years scheduling/estimating.

Responsibilities

• Lead Preconstruction Group with daily management, coordination and budget/schedule success.
• Maintain cost control ledger, job cost statements and prepare billings.
• Set up and maintain CMiC system; prepare bid packages and evaluate bids.
• Write project procedures and review plans for completeness and accuracy.
• Supervise and train Preconstruction Project Engineers and staff.
• Ensure procurement activities align with LNTP scope, budget and schedules.
• Collaborate with Engineering, Procurement, BD, legal and construction teams to define contract scopes.
• Develop LNTPs and manage long lead procurement items.
• Provide timely reporting on cost forecasting and estimates at completion; manage project risk.
