Job summary

RHI Magnesita is seeking a Precast Refractory Professional to act as a technical expert supporting the development, implementation, and optimization of precast refractory solutions for customers across North America. This is a remote role with extensive travel (75%+).

You will partner with Sales, R&D, Operations, and Recycling teams to solve customer challenges, improve product performance, and drive growth, efficiency, and sustainability.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Ceramic Engineering or related field preferred.
• 5+ years in refractories, steelmaking, heavy machinery, or similar.
• Knowledge of refractories materials, applications, and steelmaking.
• Mechanical aptitude to support equipment like mixers and gunning machines.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving mindset with continuous improvement.
• Excellent verbal and written communication for diverse audiences.
• Advanced Microsoft 365 skills; SAP experience is a plus.
• Able to travel extensively (75%+) across North America.

Responsibilities

• Partner with Sales to understand customer requirements and propose solutions.
• Conduct field measurements to support mold design and fabrication.
• Support manufacturing processes for precast refractory components.
• Coordinate product trials at customer sites to evaluate performance.
• Identify opportunities to improve product performance and efficiency.
• Document and communicate product quality results to customers and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with R&D on new product development and improvements.
• Assist Operations with footprint strategies and manufacturing transfers.
• Work with Recycling teams to advance sustainability initiatives.
• Provide hands-on technical support in customer and manufacturing environments while adhering to safety standards and OSHA regulations.
