Job summary

Theoris is seeking a Power System Software Engineer to develop automation tools for outage coordination, stability studies, and operational planning. You will integrate EMS data, automate VSAT/TSAT analyses, and deliver reporting and visualization capabilities across the client footprint.

Ideal candidates have strong power system modeling knowledge, production-grade software experience, and the ability to build scalable, maintainable tools in a highly technical environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical field; power systems fundamentals.
• 3+ years of software development experience; 6+ years preferred.
• Strong programming and application development skills.
• Experience developing production-grade software, automation tools, or engineering apps.
• Understanding of electric power systems, transmission operations, stability analysis.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, test, and maintain tools automating outage coordination and stability workflows.
• Build prototype and production apps connecting EMS models, outage data, and datasets.
• Develop integrations with EMS, PI, CIMSpy, CROW, and other data sources.
• Automate stability studies using VSAT and TSAT; create transfer scenarios and contingencies.
• Develop APIs, scripting interfaces, and GUI using Tkinter or similar frameworks.
• Generate reports, dashboards, visualizations, and transfer margins for planning.
