Job summary

Markent Personnel, Inc. is seeking a relay testing and commissioning technician to support utility-scale transmission and distribution projects. You will test protective relays, read schematics, and work on HV equipment in a remote, home-based role with regional travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in EE or related field or equivalent experience
• 3-5+ years in utility or substation relay testing and commissioning
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record
• Comfort with flexible hours, weekends and frequent driving
• NETA certification is not required

Responsibilities

• Test and commission protective relays, control schemes and substation equipment on transmission and distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot, run start-ups and collect test data on HV equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and DC elementaries.
• Work independently on site, and report findings to customers and project leads.

Education

Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related field

3-5+ years in utility or substation relay testing and commissioning

Valid driver's license and clean driving record

Comfort with flexible hours, weekends and frequent driving
