Job summary

Your Talent Team is seeking a field engineer to test and commission protective relays and substation equipment across the upper Midwest. This role is remote, home-based with daily regional travel to utility sites.

You will read schematics, work independently on site, and report findings to customers and project leads. Requires 3–5+ years in relay testing, a related EE degree, and a valid driver\'s license; a company vehicle and full benefits are provided.

Qualifications

• 3–5+ years in utility or substation relay testing and commissioning.
• Hands-on experience with relay test sets and relay software (SEL, GE or similar).
• A bachelor's degree in EE or a related field, or equivalent experience. NETA certification is not required.
• Comfort with flexible hours, weekends and frequent driving.
• Valid driver's license and a clean driving record.

Responsibilities

• Test and commission protective relays, control schemes and substation equipment on transmission and distribution systems.
• Troubleshoot, run start-ups and collect test data on HV equipment.
• Read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams and DC elementaries.
• Work independently on site, and report findings to customers and project leads.
