Job summary

Electric Power Engineers, LLC (EPE) seeks a power systems engineer to join our remote US/Canada team. You will develop and conduct computer modeling for transmission planning studies, including steady state, short circuit, and dynamic stability analyses.

Candidates should have a bachelor’s in electrical engineering with power systems focus. Staff II needs 2-3 years of experience and familiarity with PSLF, PSCAD, Aspen, TARA, and Python automation.

Qualifications

  • Staff I requires a Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in power systems.
  • Staff II requires 2-3 years of experience in power systems engineering.
  • Experience performing power system impact studies: Steady State, Short Circuit, Dynamic Stability.
  • Experience with PSLF, PSCAD, Aspen, and TARA.
  • Experience automating/programming in Python.

Responsibilities

  • Perform power system impact studies: Steady State, Short Circuit, and Dynamic Stability.
  • Perform NERC-compliance-related technical analyses such as planning assessments.
  • Perform full generator interconnection studies including SSR studies.
  • Ensure renewables/storage interconnecting meet VRT requirements.
  • Prepare technical study reports and maintain study data.
