Job summary

Electric Power Engineers is seeking a Power Systems Engineer to perform modeling and analysis for transmission planning, including steady state, short circuit, and dynamic stability studies. You will use PSS/E, PSCAD, ASPEN, and TARA; mentor junior engineers; interact with clients; develop mitigation plans and methods; and support business development.

Location is remote in the US or Canada with occasional travel. A Bachelors in EE and 2–4+ years experience are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelors degree in Electrical Engineering with emphasis in power systems.
• 2–4+ years of power systems experience.
• Experience with power system impact studies: Dynamic Stability, Load Flow, Steady State, Short Circuit.
• Experience with Python for automation is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Perform high-level bulk power system impact studies (Steady State, Short Circuit, Dynamic Stability).
• Utilize power systems software such as PSS/E, PSCAD, ASPEN, and TARA.
• Lead and mentor electrical engineers in performing power system steady state, short circuit, and dynamic analyses.
• Develop mitigation plans for identified constraints and system issues.
• Review and develop transmission planning study methodologies and processes.
• Support business development activities.
