Job summary

Electric Power Engineers, LLC (EPE) is seeking a Power Systems Engineer with 3+ years of experience to join our team advancing the grid of the future. You will perform Generation Integration and load interconnection studies within the WECC footprint and develop PSSE/PSLF/PSCAD models for Solar PV, BESS, and Wind.

Location is remote in the US or Canada with occasional travel. You will engage in meetings, report findings, and contribute to innovations shaping a modern, secure, and resilient grid.

Qualifications

• 3+ years professional experience as a Power Systems Engineer.
• Proven team player with ability to build and maintain internal and external relationships.
• Strong organizational and communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Strong customer focus, both internal and external.
• Capable of managing multiple tasks, projects and resources.

Responsibilities

• Perform and lead Generation Integration and load Interconnection studies within the Western Electricity Coordinating Council (WECC) footprint
• Identify optimal strategy for project interconnection to the grid based on system impacts and assessing grid capacity.
• Work on interconnection projects, including modeling, due diligence, interconnection analysis.
• Create and validate PSSE, PSLF and PSCAD models for renewable generation: Solar PV, BESS, Wind.
• It is a plus if the candidate is able to perform specialized studies of the power grid, such as Sub-synchronous Resonance studies, protection coordination studies, arc flash studies, transient overvoltage (TOV) studies.
• Contribute to Knowledge base of the organization and development of innovative study approaches/techniques.
