Job summary

RMS Energy Co, LLC is seeking an Electrical Design Engineer to lead technical design projects and support critical energy infrastructure across the U.S. This remote‑capable role combines deep design experience with field insight, enabling comprehensive power system solutions—from analysis to commissioning.

You will collaborate with engineering and field services teams to drive growth in the substation and power systems space, and travel to job sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent required.
• Willingness to travel 15–20% across the continental U.S.
• Ability to work remotely with minimal supervision and maintain safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Design and analyze complex electrical power systems and substation upgrades.
• Develop electrical and substation equipment specifications, drawing packages, and installation plans.
• Perform short‑circuit, arc flash, and coordination studies using SKM, EasyPower, or ETAP.
• Generate control circuit designs and develop relay settings for electromechanical and digital relays.
• Review existing power systems and provide expert recommendations for upgrades or improvements.
• Analyze power quality data and investigate event capture data to pinpoint causes and mitigation strategies.
• Travel to job sites to collect field data, support installation efforts, and assist in commissioning.
• Provide technical expertise to internal teams and assist field services teams on-site.
