Job summary

WSP is seeking a Power Delivery Distribution Project Manager in Fort Worth, TX or Phoenix, AZ with remote options within the region. You will supervise technical, administrative, and commercial aspects of electric utility projects, ensuring safety, QA/QC, schedule adherence, and budget control.

You will lead multidisciplinary teams, manage multiple projects, develop scopes and plans, and coordinate with clients and regulators.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree required in Electrical/Civil Engineering or related field.
10+ years of experience managing power distribution/T&D projects.
Experience delivering feeder, distribution line, or grid modernization projects.
Strong understanding of utility operations and electrical distribution design.
Familiarity with NERC, IEEE standards and NEC codes.
Experience with EPC project delivery and capital programs in energy.
Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
Excellent communication and stakeholder management with utilities and clients.
Experience with project management tools and financial tracking systems.
Ability to lead multidisciplinary teams across engineering, procurement, and construction.

Responsibilities

Lead cross-functional teams delivering power distribution and utility engineering projects.
Manage multiple projects with budgets, schedules, and resource allocation.
Develop project scopes, cost estimates, schedules, and plans.
Create and maintain Work Breakdown Structures (WBS) for EPC delivery.
Ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards.
Participate in proposal development, RFP responses, and business development.
Perform margin analysis, risk assessments, and contingency planning.
Coordinate contract negotiations and client/stakeholder meetings.
Develop PMP, Safety Plans, Risk Management, and QA/QC procedures.
Collaborate with engineering teams across distribution design.
Coordinate with Project Accounting on forecasting and earned value.
Lead change management, scope control, and claims mitigation.
Staff projects with overhead and underground distribution staff.
Ensure HSE standards adherence and escalate issues as needed.
Provide client and leadership reporting on performance.
Manage project closeout and lessons learned.
Stay current on grid modernization, DER, and electrification trends.
